Which perfumes smell clean?
The ones with white musk, soapy notes, white flowers (jasmine, orange blossom), cotton and light citrus. It is the “just stepped out of the shower” smell, and it is almost always built around musk.
What to ask for in the shop
- White musk — the base of it all. Soft, warm, not sweet.
- Soap / powder notes — a “freshly washed” effect.
- Jasmine, orange blossom, bitter orange — clean florals, never heavy.
- Bergamot, lemon, green tea — freshness right at the start.
- Avoid: vanilla, caramel, smoky woods, heavy amber.
And one tip
A “clean” scent works best at low intensity, especially at the office. One spray on the neck is enough. If you want it to last all day without getting stronger, wear a body cream in the same scent underneath.
